The Malcolm Whales Foundation
A truly fantastic foundation setup in by Damien Whales in memory of his father, Malcolm, who passed away in 2008 following a battle with cancer. Malcolm was an active man and before passing had got involved in endurance challenges, and in particular, long distance walks.
In 2009 Damien and Team organised their first 'Dorset Walk' along the South West Coastal Path, which included 30 student participants and raised £6,000. Since then the Dorset Walk has become an annual event with students, teachers, and other individuals heading down to take on part of the Jurassic Coast.

Damien, Founder and Chair of The Malcolm Whales Foundation, stumbled across Edgar's Gift on Twitter back in 2016 and reached out - we are so thankful that he did. Neil and Damien discussed what both charities do and we realised how our reasons for forming and goals shared some incredible similarities.
The Malcolm Whales Foundation supported with a donation in 2016 to help us secure the holiday home we were working towards, and now support us with an annual donation to enable further gifts for young adults suffering with cancer. A team from Edgar's Gift attends the Dorset Walk each year, and we look forward to the future partnership with Damien and his team. We are so grateful to The Malcolm Whales Foundation for the support they have given, and continue to give us.
Purple Care TM Ltd
In June 2021, due to difficult times with fundraising impacted by the Coronavirus, we had to put a temporary hold on 4 gifts. Purple Care TM Ltd of Hinckley heard about this & made a very generous donation to pay for the 4 gifts. They also set up a monthly standing order to support us further into the future. We are so thankful to Purple Care for their amazing support of Edgar's Gift.
Purple Care TM Ltd is an independent care provider established in 2015. Based in Hinckley (Leicestershire), and currently provide both Domiciliary Home Care to its surrounding areas as well as Live In Care across the whole of the England and Wales.
The Car Factory / The Dream Factory
Edgar’s Gift is delighted to have the privilege of linking up with The Car Factory & The Dream Factory to help young adults with cancer. Based in Fleckney, Leicestershire, The Car Factory offers luxury car storage while also creating a members community of like minded people. The Dream Factory is the wonderful arm of The Car Factory that aims to use the luxury cars and showroom to help give back to anybody suffering a difficult time.
The showroom hosts an incredible array of classic and luxury cars ranging from Porsches, Ferraris, Aston Martins, as well as a particular Volvo used by DCI John Luther in the hit BBC tv series.
Through this partnership we are able to offer amazing days and experiences to young adults suffering with cancer that have a love for motor vehicles.
